Doğan Arslan

Doğan Arslan, nació en 1970, es un diseñador y artista Turco. Estudió y se graduó en el departamento de Diseño Gráfico de la Facultad de Arte y Diseño de la Universidad de Gazi en 1993. Recibió una beca y se fue a Nueva York a estudiar un máster en el Insituto Pratt. Terminó el máster en 2000. Al año siguiente, viajó a Londres para estudiar el doctorado en Arte y Diseño en la Universidad de East London.

Tras doctorarse en esta universidad en 2007, regresó a Nueva York para trabajar como Director de Arte/Diseñador en varias empresas de diseño. Tras trabajar en Nueva York durante 10 años, regresó a Estambul en 2013 para crear un Departamento de Diseño de Comunicación Visual en la Universidad Medeniyet de Estambul. Actualmente es profesor a tiempo completo en esta universidad, así como en las universidades Işık y Yeditepe de Estambul.

Sus obras han recibido 35 premios en concursos nacionales e internacionales, entre ellos un Graphis Platinum, dos Graphis Gold y un Graphis Silver en el concurso Graphis Annual Poster. Fue el ganador del tercer premio del Festival Internacional de la Vaca de Ucrania. Sus viñetas humorísticas fueron galardonadas con el primer y el tercer premio del Concurso Internacional de Viñetas Aydın Doğan, así como con el primer premio de las Jornadas Internacionales Homer Davenport y el segundo premio del Concurso de Viñetas Nasrettin Hoca, entre otros.

Sus obras han sido seleccionadas para prestigiosos concursos y exposiciones como Poster for Tomorrow, la Bienal Internacional del Cartel de México, la Trienal Internacional del Cartel Político de Mons, la Exposición de Carteles Mut Zur Wut, la Bienal Virtual de Praga, Escucha mi voz, la IV Trienal Internacional del Eco Cartel Block IX, el Festival de Diseño de Perú, la Bienal Internacional de Chipre y el Sarajevo 100 Poster Project, entre otros.

Le interesan el arte, el diseño, la fotografía, la ilustración, los dibujos animados y el arte moderno. Sus obras han aparecido en numerosas publicaciones y catálogos, y se han expuesto en galerías y museos.

Doğan Arslan, born in 1970, is a Turkish designer and artist. He studied and graduated from the Graphic Design department at the Art and Design Faculty of Gazi University in 1993. He received a scholarship and went to New York to study for his master's degree at the Pratt Institute. He finished his master's degree in 2000. The following year, he traveled to London to study for his doctoral degree in Art and Design at the University of East London.

After receiving his doctoral degree from this university in 2007, he returned to New York to work as an Art Director/Designer in various design companies. After working in New York for 10 years, he returned to Istanbul in 2013 to establish a Visual Communication Design Department at Istanbul Medeniyet University. He is currently a full-time professor at this university as well as at Işık and Yeditepe Universities in Istanbul.

His works have received 35 awards in national and international competitions, including one Graphis Platinum, two Graphis Golds, and one Graphis Silver at the Graphis Annual Poster competition. He was the third prize winner at the International Cow Festival in Ukraine. His humorous cartoons were awarded first and third prizes at the Aydın Doğan International Cartoon Competition, as well as the first prize at the International Homer Davenport Days and the second prize at the Nasrettin Hoca Cartoon Competition, among others.

His works have been chosen for prestigious competitions and exhibitions such as Poster for Tomorrow, the International Poster Biennial in Mexico, the International Triennial of the Political Poster Show in Mons, the Mut Zur Wut Poster Exhibition, the Virtual Biennial Prague, Escucha mi voz, the 4th Block IX International Eco-Poster Triennial, the Peru Design Festival, the International Cyprus Biennial, and the Sarajevo 100 Poster Project, among others.

He is interested in art, design, photography, illustration, cartoons, and modern art. His works have been published in many publications and catalogs, as well as exhibited in galleries and museums.
